Monica Baker (Owner):
My name is Monica Baker Swarts, I own Baker accounting. Here is a bit about me:
I moved to Pratt in October of 2002, I brought some clients from Manhattan, Kansas with me and worked out of my home and a few different on-site clients until I started full-time with Kahmeyer accounting in July of 2004. While I was the key employee and raising children, I have worked hard to continue to give back to the community I choose to be in.
I have been very involved with:
ABC Pregnancy Center, Relay for life, Operation Christmas Child, started PALS (People Assisting Little Souls, a Para type program for special needs children in church settling) my church Finance Boards, Pratt Co Extension Board, Economic Board, SW Fun Night Game Coordinator, Member of NATP , NSTP. I am sure I am leaving things out.
In October of 2014 I took Kahmeyer accounting over and it became Baker Professional Accounting Services.
After relocating a few times we finally settled in our current location of 920 E 1st St Pratt, Kansas 67124.
August of 2017, I married David Swarts and together we are raising our 4 boys.
The Oldest (Twins) have graduated from Pratt High School Class of 2021. Nathan has chosen the career path and Lucas is at WSU working on a Master and Minor. Jack is a high school student that will graduate class of 2024 from Pratt High School and then our youngest Luhan is completing elementary school and will work through the school system as the others have. David is an owner operator of currently one Semi. We have a small farm outside of Pratt that we call home. In our free time we like to just enjoy our family and the outdoors. David and Luhan are originally from South Africa so traveling and showing this amazing country we live in is a passion of mine. As I age my enjoyment for adventure has for sure changed but I love to explore all the wonders this world has for sure, the repelling, canoeing, and paragliding are becoming memories and more the easy rides and massages pace.
My passion has always been to help the small businesses or Non-profits that don’t have the need for a full-time staff but have accounting and payroll needs to ensure things are being handled properly.
